I am passionate about empowering clients to achieve financial freedom and enriching their lives through tailored financial advice. I am the founder of Affinity Advisors and a Trusted Financial Adviser with more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.

During my career I have held leadership and specialist roles across major institutions including ANZ, National Bank, and Countrywide, and as a superannuation and lending specialist at St George Bank in Australia. My transition to financial advising was seamless, as I have been in this role for most of my working life. The big difference for me as an advisor is that I can now work for you!

One of my greatest rewards is helping clients gain clarity and confidence in their financial futures. I thrive on guiding people toward their goals and take pride in celebrating the positive outcomes we achieve together.

A standout achievement in my career was receiving the Judges Award for Excellence in Financial Advice from the Professional Advisers Association. This inaugural award recognising that I gave advice across all areas of my client’s financial position.

As an owner of Affinity, I have handpicked my team that align with my values and bring their own strengths to their individual roles.

I started with Affinity in administration after gaining the opportunity to work part time whilst completing my Bachelor of Commerce. It has been a pleasure watching the business grow and I am proud to now be a business partner of Affinity.

When I work with clients I become a part of their journey every step of the way. I pride myself on resourcing all options for clients and making them feel relaxed and well informed on what can be a daunting process.  I am a financial guide for my clients and someone who they can lean on for any questions throughout the purchasing process.

I have been working in the industry for 12 years and have been a Director of Affinity since 2020. Together with Sandra Spence we have created a business that can advise around Mortgage, Insurance & Investment advice. This was important to both if us as we strong believe that the financial health of our clients is best aided when an adviser can review the larger picture.

Working in the financial advice industry has provided me a great opportunity to assist Kiwis in meeting their home buying goals. Having gone through the process myself, I understand the guidance and support required to get into your own home.

As a Director of Affinity, I also take pride in helping shape a business that puts clients first - supporting them whether it’s their first home, second home, investment property, or any other financial decision.

I have been in the finance industry for close to a decade, having learned the ropes while completing a Bachelor of Commerce and now advising for the past 5 years. This time with Affinity has provided me with a sound knowledge of the banking industry and what areas of finance can best suit my clients’ needs.

I’m driven by the satisfaction of helping everyday New Zealanders make confident and informed financial decisions that set them up for the future.

Working with clients has come naturally as I have worked in lending and insurance organisations for 15 years prior to starting with Affinity. I am excited by the opportunity to work at Affinity as a Financial Adviser as I have a wealth of lending knowledge that can assist my clients make great decisions and lead to excellent outcomes. I pride myself on caring for my customers and making sure they are receiving the best advice possible for their situation. I will work with clients to achieve goals and will often provide recommendations on a plan they need to complete to make the goal a realty. At Affinity we work with everyone as we believe everyone needs a financial health check and a strong financial plan.

My clients have commented in the past that I go above and beyond when sourcing and advising on their home purchases. I become part of their journey and enjoy the opportunity to help people navigate the purchasing process.

Vicki joined the Affinity team in 2015 as an executive lending assistant.

Vicki has extensive experience in lending due to working for ANZ Bank as a banking consultant for 20 years.  The skills and relationships she developed at the Bank have enabled her to flourish in the brokerage industry.  At Affinity, she now utilises her skills by assisting Sandra and Nick with lending applications.

Affinity is committed to providing a professional experience to clients to achieve their financial goals.  Affinity has qualified advisers and strong administrative support.  Vicki is a valued team member and enjoys working in a supportive and professional work environment.

As one of the original staff members of ASB Dunedin branch, I bring to Affinity a legacy of banking knowledge. I currently head the wealth and investment branch of Affinity, where I assist the investment channel for, Sandra Spence, as her Executive Assistant. 

In 2022 I took on the role of Compliance Officer at Affinity to further my knowledge of the business and use my skills to assist with our business's compliance requirements. 

The skill set I have acquired from my history in customer service has allowed my role at Affinity to come naturally. I am a person who has immersed herself in many roles of responsibility and organisation, I consider myself competent at time management and team cohesion.

I am a founding member and Trustee of the Otago Children’s Autism Support Group, and take great pride in helping to establish this charitable Trust that assist’s families and children with Autism.

After 12 years working in banking industry I made the decision to move on to a new opportunity with Affinity where I would head the insurance arm of their business. This role was perfect for my skill set as I have always been customer relationship focused and insurance is an area of finance that requires timely, diligent responses however also encompass the compassion and empathy required when dealing with such important protection.

Personal Risk insurance has many intricacies and it is my role to help with all areas if the insurance experience with Affinity. I am the port of call for any information required, claims, application gathering and all areas of conversing with the insurers to derive positive outcomes. I enjoy working with people and pride myself on my ability to be contacted and adhere to timely response. Affinity have dedicated a role to the customer experience of insurance and it has been by pleasure to engage with our customers.

As part of the administration team at Affinity, I help manage key support functions to ensure the smooth operation of the mortgage tranche. I am committed to providing organisational support, working closely with the advisors and their clients to maintain a high standard of service.

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce, specialising in Management and Marketing. This has given me a strong foundation in business strategy and client relations. While I am new to the finance industry, I am eager to apply my academic knowledge and develop my skills in a professional environment. With a strong interest in finance, I am motivated to learn and grow alongside the team, contributing to the firm’s administrative efficiency and supporting the success of our financial advisors.
